New year...New me?

Twelve months have passed since I made my resolutions for 2014….Before I make my resolutions for 2015 I want to say how I did with my 2014 resolutions.
2014 has been a tough year for me. There have been highs and lows but I think more highs than lows. I made an effort to go out more and get back in touch with people that I had lost contact with over the years.
I did lose some of my baby weight being a woohooo moment for myself and I got a bit healthier….the latter consisting of me eating fewer chips I guess… hopefully this will continue into 2015.
What now? Well 2014 is over so it is too late to do anything further. Instead it is time to look ahead to 2015 which is the year I turn the big 3-0 !!!!
I am hoping to thoroughly enjoy the last few months of my twenties....So here are my resolutions for 2015.

  • Have better self confidence
It would be fair to say that I am my own worst enemy and when I am feeling low I struggle to see my positive points. In the last 12 months I have done some fabulous things but still haven’t believed in myself. In 2015 I need to have more faith and confidence in myself and my beliefs. Predominantly not taking on board negative commentary from individuals and looking at the positives in life.

  • Be less anti-social
After my son was born I unknowingly withdrew from socialising. It was damage limitation for myself as I was just mentally and physically exhausted! So in 2015 I need to ensure I get back into the social world!

  • Make a difference – to someone or something
This is about me wanting to help others in some way. I am not a world leader, Mother Teresa or anyone important; nonetheless I am sure I can make a difference in some way. This could be raising money for charity or supporting someone going through a difficult time.

  • Travel
So ideally I would love to travel abroad in 2015 but at the very least I would like to see more of the UK. Preferably I would love to visit India as it has been 23 years since I had last been so that would be an experience itself. (did I mention it's also an excuse to do lots of shopping)!

  •  Stress less
In 2015 I need to build on my coping strategies and not let things get to me as much. I only get stressed because I care about things but sometimes in the words of Frozen just “Let It Go”….

  • Eating
Being a self-confessed foodie does not help when you are trying to eat better, I wouldn't say to eat less as I know this is an unattainable goal to set myself, I would envisage eating healthier and not skipping meals.

  • Writing
This might seem a bit random but it is on my bucket list to do and I think I would like to do some more writing. I do post on my blog but that is about it and that isn’t on a regular basis either, so definitely an avenue to explore.

So there you have it. My New Year’s Resolutions for 2015. Yes they aren’t predominantly based around weight loss but rather around personal goals and becoming a positive and well-rounded individual. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my life in 2014. It has been a tough year especially for some friends and family but the strength they have shown is a huge inspiration for me. I have also achieved a lot in 2014 with my hair and makeup business, something which I didn't think would take off so well but I proved myself wrong and I'm thoroughly enjoying it, especially meeting some lovely clients.

So let’s see what challenges 2015 have.

Christmas 2014

Another Christmas and a day of over indulgence resulting in suffering later whilst nursing your tummy - I'm sure many of you can relate to the picture - I surely could after a few helpings too many!!

So this year was my sons second Christmas and as always we spent the day with our lovely families, opening presents, fun and games.
We decided to change things around this year and for my husbands side of the family we did a secret Santa which proved a hit with me as I enjoyed shopping for my recipient however I was eager  to know who was shopping for me!!!

I received a lovely Benefit Sugarlicious gift set consisting of a rose tinted lip and cheek stain, the highbeam (which may I add ladies I would totally recommend - its a fantastic product if your looking for a luminescent  complexion enhancer), a pinky shade lip gloss and finally a nude coloured face powder fantastic for adding a flush to the cheeks.

Being the Scrooge I can be, I vowed never to wear a Christmas jumper as it was tooooo cliche ..... well that vow went out the window when my mum was insistent...yes I am fully aware I look ridiculous but hey, Christmas spirit and all.

Whilst waiting for my Christmas dinner my mum and I had a lovely balloon fight - what can I say apart from the fact that you are never too old to be silly!!

On the right is a picture of my Christmas dinner which was truly scrumptious....compliments to the chef!

Here's a few images of me on the day posing away, opening presents, wearing glasses far too over sized for me and finally...engaging in a balloon war.

I really enjoy decorating my Christmas tree every year, it's lovely and tall at 6ft so towers in my living room, surprisingly my son never took any of the baubles off, my husband had estimated that the tree would be taken down within a few days as my son would have a field day with all the decor on the tree, so I'm glad he proved us wrong.

Christmas for 2014 has been a fun filled and enjoyable day ..... until next time ladies and gents x
